This blog is a general forum for news, announcements, etc., about the MLE (metaphysics, language, and epistemology) seminar at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Oxford. For the most part, it’ll be used to announce the sessions for an upcoming term and link to the papers for those sessions, alongside any handouts made for the session.
The general format of the MLE seminar, at least for the foreseeable future, is that it will meet fortnightly (with the exact time and place likely to vary from term to term); each week, there will be a paper nominated for discussion, and someone nominated to introduce the paper. After that, there will be a general discussion of the paper and issues raised therein (which will generally be continued in the pub following the seminar). All are encouraged to come along; any questions should be directed to the co-organisers of the seminar, Natalia Hickman and Neil Dewar.
In addition, the older posts of the blog comprise summaries of discussions at the MLE seminar between 2007 and 2009, mostly written by Alastair Wilson. In many cases links are provided to handouts on the week’s paper; thanks to the various seminar participants responsible.
